Job Duties:
Develop Engineering Design Packages (EDPs) that encompass the entire project plan, including all necessary specifications, instructions, and documentation required to successfully execute the project from start to finish. Upgrade network capacities by identifying suitable cages/racks in Data Centers and Points of Presence (PoPs) to accommodate new network equipment, and evaluate their specifications such as connectivity, dimensions, and power capacity. Activate network devices such as routers, switches, and optical gears by configuring and verifying device activation and functionality through initial testing and monitoring. Collaborate with network technicians to coordinate the commissioning and decommissioning of network devices, maintaining high quality standards and minimizing disruptions to existing network operations. Build and modify network automation scripts using templates and configuration files to automate provisioning and configuration tasks, ensuring accurate and efficient configuration of network devices. Integrate network automation scripts with internal tools and systems to automate workflows and maintain and update databases for network device and circuit management. Develop and utilize automation scripts for testing and monitoring new built circuits end-to-end, including ping and traceroute tests, and implement automation workflows to deploy tested workflows into production. Collaborate with on-site network technicians involving circuit troubleshooting caused by various issues such as optics, fiber, and hardware-related problems. Troubleshoot issues and deployment by collaborating with cross-functional teams to remediate and mitigate issues for the future. Investigate and diagnose script failures by analyzing logs, error messages, and system outputs to determine root causes and take appropriate corrective actions to ensure successful implementation. Document new internal methods and procedures, review and update documentation as processes evolve, and ensure effective knowledge sharing across the team. Create Methods of Procedure for new issues by developing step-by-step instructions for resolving specific issues, based on root cause analysis and resolution efforts. Develop POP site documentation that includes specifications, cross-connects, and inventory records. Collaborate with network equipment vendors to troubleshoot a variety of software and hardware issues such as bugs and version discrepancies and conduct root cause analysis and develop strategic plans to prevent similar issues in the future. Engage with technicians, Engineers and other third-party logistics teams globally who contribute to project execution.
Job Requirements:
Required Master’s or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Engineering (Any), or any related field +1 year of experience in the job offered, Network Analyst, Network Consultant, Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or related. Travel may be required to various unanticipated client sites throughout the US. The frequency of travel will be 10-15%.
